HARARE – Former SuperSport United striker Evans Rusike made his debut for struggling Yadah FC at the weekend, marking his return to the domestic premier league in almost a decade.
Rusike who has been training with the prophet Walter Magaya owned side before being roped in recently, started in the 2-1 home defeat to Simba Bhora at The Heart Stadium on Saturday.
Reacting to his debut, the former Maritzburg United attacker told the club’s media team that he was delighted to wear Yadah’s “special kit”.
“I’m really grateful to the whole Yadah FC family for granting me the opportunity to wear this special kit, l will surely do everything within my power to repay their faith”, said Rusike.
“I can feel the warmth in the dressing room and l am acclimatising to the system well.”

Rusike added that he remains positive the Miracle Boys will start winning matches despite a disappointing start to the 2024 Castle Lager PSL season.
“Our match against Simba Bhora did not pan out as planned. However, l am very optimistic that soon the team will strike the right chords.”
Yadah FC are yet to taste victory in five matches played so far, drawing two and losing three.
The ex-Hwange FC forward promised the Yadah faithfuls that soon he will begin to score the much needed goals.
“I want to assure our supporters that soon we will start banging the goals. Our team has been going through a lot of changes considering that l recently joined the club alongside Khama Billiat.
“Our main agenda is to find our first win possibly against TelOne such that we can build our momentum thereafter,” Rusike outlined.
Yadah are desperate for a win as they travel to Gweru on Saturday to face off PSL returnees Telone who are having a good start to the season with two wins, two draws and one defeat.
The match day six fixture will be played at Bata Stadium.
Kick off time at 3pm.
