A seventh U.S. service member has died after sustaining serious injuries in an attack on American troops in Saudi Arabia, the U.S. military confirmed Sunday.
According to U.S. Central Command, the service member was critically wounded during the March 1 incident and succumbed to their injuries late Saturday. Their identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
This latest fatality brings the total number of American military deaths in the ongoing conflict with Iran to seven.
The confrontation escalated following a series of strikes in the region, with U.S. forces and their allies targeted in multiple incidents across the Middle East.
Earlier this week, President Donald Trump attended a dignified transfer ceremony for six other service members who were killed in previous attacks, highlighting the growing human cost of the hostilities.
Officials have warned that tensions remain high in the region, with further military engagements likely as the situation continues to unfold.

Meanwhile Mojtaba Khamenei, the second son of the late Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has been appointed as his father’s successor.
The clerical assembly responsible for selecting Iran’s top authority announced the decision Sunday, urging citizens to support the new leader and maintain national cohesion.
State media reported that Khamenei’s appointment came through what the assembly described as a “decisive vote.”
The body called on people across the country—particularly scholars, academics, and religious elites—to pledge loyalty to the incoming leadership and preserve unity at a pivotal moment for the nation.
