Tottenham appoint ex-Juventus boss Igor Tudor as interim head coach until end of season

Must Try

LONDON – Tottenham Hotspur have reached an agreement with Igor Tudor to take charge as interim head coach until the end of the season, following the dismissal of Thomas Frank earlier this week.

Spurs parted ways with Frank with the club sitting five points above the relegation zone. Sources told BBC Sport the north London side were keen to have a replacement in place before players returned to training on Monday.

Tudor, 47, has been out of work since leaving Juventus in October 2025 after an eight-match winless run left the Italian side eighth in Serie A.

The Croatian has previously managed Lazio, Marseille, Galatasaray and Udinese, and won the Croatian Cup with Hajduk Split in 2013 — his only trophy as a manager.

As a player, Tudor enjoyed a successful nine-year spell at Juventus, winning two Serie A titles and finishing as a runner-up in the 2003 Champions League final.

He was also part of Croatia’s squad that reached the semi-finals of the 1998 World Cup, eventually finishing third.

Tottenham had considered other short-term options, including former Borussia Dortmund manager Edin Terzic and ex-Red Bull Leipzig boss Marco Rose. Tudor could yet be considered for the role on a permanent basis if he impresses.

Former Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino remains a candidate for the full-time position, while Roberto De Zerbi has also emerged as a possible contender after leaving Marseille by mutual consent earlier this week.
