Jean Gasho’s Kingdom of Kubala evicted, two arrested for immigration offences
SCOTLAND – The ‘Mighty Kingdom of Kubala’ has fallen after Scottish Police removed Zimbabwean Jean Gasho, her Ghanaian husband Kofi Offeh and their “handmaiden” American Kaura Taylor, from a forest which they had camped on.
The self-styled African tribe had been camped on land belonging to the Scottish Border Council.
Police arrested Offeh, the self-proclaimed King Atehene and Taylor, who now identifies as Asnat. Both are being charged with immigration offences.
The group has been living in the woods in Jedburgh, near the border of England, since May.

The tribe live streamed their eviction and arrest of two of its members on TikTok on Thursday morning as they were being escorted out of their camping sites. Their belongings were packed into black trash bags.
The Kingdom of Kubala had lodged on this piece of land claiming it was stolen from their ancestors and it was time for them to take it back and all land belonged to their God, so no one had the right to evict them.
Posting on her Facebook page after the eviction, Gasho was reminiscing on their moments together in their Kingdom.
She wrote, “Oh my handmaiden Asnat… It was the energy we felt together, the moment in time recorded in history and the future. I know I will see you soon, my handmaiden, your loyalty, dedication, and oath to me.
“Your Queen by your own life is something no edomite can ever take away from you.”
Speaking in a video, Jean hinted that she was now homeless as she had nowhere else to go to after being evicted from the only home she has known since May.
“I’m about to leave this place for a new chapter in my life. In Kubala, we don’t cry. I don’t know where I am sleeping tonight, I don’t know where I am going, but I feel content. My bags are all packed as a pilgrim I move,” said Gasho.
