SOUTH AFRICA – Police in South Africa have launched a manhunt for unknown assailants after two Zimbabweans, thought to be from Bulawayo, were shot and killed on Sunday morning.

The incident occurred in Ha-Rangani Village, Masisi policing area, Vhembe District, in Limpopo Province.

The pair of Zimbabweans, said to be aged 28 and 30, were discovered alongside A white Toyota Hilux 2.8 GD abandoned in the bush next to a gravel road.

According to a police statement, the pair had numerous gunshot wounds.

“One of the victims was seated in the driver’s seat with multiple gunshot wounds while the second was found a short distance away, also fatally wounded,” police said in their statement.

Provincial Police Commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe said that police had now launched a manhunt had been launched for the killers of the two men, who were resident in Musina and Ha-Rangani Village.

A case of double murder has been opened at Masisi Police Station and transferred to the Provincial Organised Crime Unit.

“Resources have been mobilised to ensure the suspects are swiftly brought to book,” said Lt General Hadebe.
