“You will suffer boys” … Mai Jeremaya pens letter to duo she accused of rape
HARARE – Controversial socialite Mai Jeremaya has penned what she has said are her final words to the men she accused of rape, Martin Charlie and Thabo Blessing Dube, in which she claimed that the two would suffer until they repented and atoned for what she alleges they did to her.
The two were freed earlier this month after a magistrate presiding over their case said the State’s case was too weak for a reasonable court to convict.
In a statement that was accompanied by a video for her new song, Pamushana, Mai Jeremaya said a lifetime of suffering awaited the two.
“A terrible tragedy. Not just a tragedy, but a real tragedy. Today I want to thank you Thabo and Martin. You were used by God to change my life, you ate where there was no food and took the spoils. I had a bad experience and passed on to people who knew that I had passed on.
“I was afraid of everyone, I was desperate, and I wanted to be loved. I’m sorry to tell you that it’s happening to me to an extent that I now believe the concept we learned in Economics A Level that the bad of one is the good of another.
“Ying and Yang… basically if you wrong someone who has done you no wrong you will suffer in the flesh. You will suffer, boys. You will go to bed hungry, boys. You will suffer,” the letter read.
The socialite also hit out at her friend, Cynthia Duringo, whose testimony helped the two accused.
“I feel sorry for you I even wish i could reverse it for you, but murikufunga kuti makahwina saka you never got time to seek mercy even in private. Maka bhaiza boys. Brotherhood is not even happy with you.
“May you rot in poverty until you seek Jesus. Cynthia sha, I always had a bad feeling about you but thought I was sinning against God by messing with you, it was just intuition. But I’m glad I learned my lesson.
“Sorry, life will take some time and you’ll be hurt by the drugs, they’re hard to live with,” she wrote.
