Zimbabwe Warriors centre back Teenage Hadebe will rub shoulders with football icons this evening as his club, FC Cincinnati, hosts Inter Miami in a high-stakes Major League Soccer (MLS) showdown at TQL Stadium.
Inter Miami, coached by Javier Mascherano, boasts global superstars Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez, both former FC Barcelona legends and recent participants in the FIFA Club World Cup.
Cincinnati, strong title contenders this season, are looking to bounce back after a disappointing 4-2 loss to rivals Columbus Crew over the weekend.
Despite leading 2-0 in that match, Cincinnati gave away the lead, surrendering the derby.
Hadebe played the last eight minutes of the match.
Currently sitting second on the log, just one point behind leaders Philadelphia, Cincinnati will be eager to stay within striking distance in the title race.
A win over Miami could prove crucial.
Miami are also in the title matrix, sitting fifth on the table with 38 points, four behind Cincinnati with two games in hand.
Hadebe who recently suffered a minor knock, is not expected to start but is likely to feature as a substitute.
Of late, the ex-Kaizer Chiefs, Highlanders and Chicken Inn defender, has been making impactful appearances off the bench due to the knock.
During preseason, Hadebe expressed his commitment to the campaign which is his first full season with Cincinnati since joining the club mid last year.
“I’m ready for the 2025 season. I look forward to giving my all to fight for this club as we look to achieve our goals this season,” he said.
With both sides in the title matrix, tonight’s clash promises fireworks.
