NEW YORK – Music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs has been found guilty of transportation to engage in prostitution following a landmark trial in New York.
The Bad Boys Records founder was however found not guilty of more serious charges of sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy.
The 55-year-old hip-hop mogul was accused of abusing and coercing three alleged victims, including ex-girlfriend, singer and model Cassie Ventura, and other crimes including kidnapping, arson and blackmail.
As the verdict was read out, Combs remained hard to read, writes BBC reporter in court, Sakshi Venkatraman. Before, he was praying with his children.
The trial heard from 34 witnesses over nearly two months, including ex-girlfriends, former employees of Combs, male escorts and federal agents.
Combs, 55, denied all charges.
The court is adjourning while the judge weighs up arguments from the defence and prosecution on whether Combs should be released on bail.
The defence wants him to walk out of the courtroom today on a $1m (£740,000) bond.
The prosecution has requested he stay locked up until the sentencing hearing.
