Sakupwanya’s Betterbrands ventures into boxing, sponsors heavyweight fighter Elvis Moyo

HARARE – Scottland FC owner Scott Sakupwanya has expanded his sporting footprint into the boxing world.

Through his company, Betterbrands, Sakupwanya is now sponsoring Zimbabwean boxer and EFC Mixed Martial Arts Heavyweight Champion Elvis Moyo, Nehanda Radio has learnt.

A statement seen by this publication confirmed the sponsorship deal, although the duration of the partnership has not been disclosed.

“Betterbrands, under the leadership of Scott Sakupwanya, is proud to support the development of Zimbabwean sport through our sponsorship of boxer and current EFC Mixed Martial Arts Heavyweight Champion Elvis Moyo.

“We are delighted to welcome Elvis Moyo as a Betterbrands athlete.

“Mr. Sakupwanya’s commitment to advancing sport is demonstrated not only by this partnership but also through his significant investment in Scottland FC, reflecting his dedication to nurturing talent and promoting excellence across sporting disciplines,” the statement reads.

“We believe that supporting committed, hard working athletes like Elvis Moyo is essential for the growth of sport in Zimbabwe. Our goal is to empower local talent and provide opportunities for athletes to reach their full potential.

“Through continued investment and leadership, Betterbrands remains committed to uplifting Zimbabwean sport and inspiring the next generation of champions.”

Elvis Moyo, who is based in South Africa and known in the ring as the “Bulawayo Bomber,” expressed his excitement and gratitude for the new sponsorship.

His manager, Michelle Mitchell, also commented on the development, calling the partnership a major boost for Moyo.

“We are thrilled to announce a new sponsorship partnership with Betterbrands, generously supported by Mr. Scott Sakupwanya,” Mitchell said.

“This crucial collaboration will provide Elvis with the essential resources to dedicate more time to training, significantly enhancing his competitiveness in the ring.
