Nadia Nakai kicked out of Netflix reality TV show Young, Famous and African

SOUTH AFRICA – Rapper Nadia Nakai has strongly hinted that she will not be returning for the fourth season of Netflix reality show Young, Famous and African, suggesting that producers of the show had overlooked her because of her “realness”.

First introduced in 2022, Young Famous & African features friends who also happen to be some of Africa’s leading socialites, entrepreneurs, and recording artists.

They descend on Johannesburg, South Africa, from across the continent to enjoy the finer things in life—parties, high teas, lunch dates, basketball runs, and this season, a wedding. However, the drama intensifies when their private struggles and personal issues are exposed.

In a post on social media, Nakai suggested that she would not be joining this motley crew of A-list entertainers for the fourth season of the show. Nakai has been an ever-present feature on the show’s cast since its debut in 2022.

To show her displeasure at the casting news, Nakai posted a video mouthing “that was rude”, captioned “when YFA didn’t ask you to come back for the new season because they would rather have drama than realness”.

In its previous seasons, Young, Famous & African combined the excesses of celebrity and socialite lifestyle with ego-driven conflict and moments of vulnerability.

The show has spawned several highlights and driven a handful of viral conversations, living up to its billing as “Africa’s hottest reality series.”

Added to last season’s cast were businesswoman Kefilwe Mabote, actress and producer, Ini Edo, and businessman and boxer Shakib Lutaaya.
