HARARE – The widow of the late Dynamos legend George Shaya, Agnes, affectionately known as Amai Shaya, has expressed serious disappointment towards the Harare giants’ current leadership.
In an interview with journalist Yvonne Mangunda on The Sportlight with Yvonne, Amai Shaya made it clear that she would never accept any gift from Dynamos.
This is regardless of the gift’s value, as she said even if it’s worth US$1 million.
In fact, it appears Amai Shaya believes no posthumous recognition from Dynamos that can make her forget how the club ill-treated her husband when he was sick.
She claims the club completely neglected her husband during his time of need.
Despite Shaya’s iconic status and years of dedicated service to Dynamos, Amai Shaya alleges the club turned its back on him when he needed them most.
“I called the Dynamos leadership asking for help with George’s medical needs, and I was told they couldn’t assist because my husband supposedly wanted to take the team from them,” she revealed.
“Dynamos neglected George. Honestly, I will never accept any gift from them, if such a gift even exists, the one they were supposed to care for died a bitter man.”

George Shaya passed away on August 24, 2021, following a long illness that led to the amputation of one of his legs.
Widely regarded as one of Zimbabwe’s greatest footballers, Shaya was a five-time Soccer Star of the Year.
He was a cherished figure in the local game.
However, due to internal politics at the Glamour Boys, his legacy in his final years, did not get the deserved recognition.
Probably, this comes after Dynamos’ majority shareholder Bernard Marriot and his faction, viewed Shaya as a threat.
Marriot, who owns 51% of the Dynamos shares, believed Shaya intended to take ownership of the club, a perception that Amai Shaya believes was false.

😆hahahahaaha she wants chivayo's largesse.
