Must Try

HARARE – Overzealous members of the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) set dogs on angry CAPS United supporters who had gathered outside Rufaro Stadium protesting their team’s 2-1 defeat to FC Platinum during a midweek match played on Wednesday.

One Makepekepe fan was bitten by the police dog during the chaos while another was reportedly bitten inside the stadium.

As if that was not enough, the police went on to harass journalists on the scene.

The police tried to prevent journalists from filming the incident, threatening to set dogs on them if they refused to comply.

The protest follows CAPS United’s poor run of form this season.

In nine games they have played so far, the Green Machine have only managed two wins against Green Fuel and Yadah, drawing once and losing six times.

Frustrated with the team’s performance, Makepekepe fans expected better results this season.

This comes after high-profile pre-season signings, including Tanaka Shandirwa and former Celtic midfielder Kundai Benyu.

Due to the team’s poor run, there are growing calls for head coach Lloyd Chitembwe’s dismissal.

Fans are accusing Chitembwe of failing to deliver despite the club’s investment.
