National Sports Stadium renovations set for end of year completion – Muswere

HARARE – The Minister of Information, Publicity, and Broadcasting Services, Jenfan Muswere, has assured the nation that renovations at the National Sports Stadium (NSS) will be completed before the year ends.

Speaking at a post cabinet media briefing in Harare on Tuesday, Muswere expressed confidence in the progress of the refurbishment efforts.

“I want to assure you that before year-end, we believe the stadium will be fully renovated, including the installation of bucket seats,” he said.

According to Muswere, installation work of bucket seats is progressing well, with sections 19, 20, and 21 already completed.

“We have also highlighted that the installation is ongoing with block 19, 20 and 21 having been completed. This is progress that has been registered in terms of the Ministry of Sports,” Muswere added.

“We have highlighted that the gym facilities have been finalised. This is part of the National Sports Stadium capacitation in terms of equipment and also in terms of the refurbishment that has been taking place at the National Sports stadium.”

This is not the first time the government has repeatedly assured that NSS renovations are about to be completed.

The former Sports Minister Kirsty Coventry previously made similar promises.

If the renovations are finally completed as scheduled, Zimbabwe will be able to host its home matches on home soil once again.
