ZIFA boss applauds Magaya for building the second stadium built in Zimbabwe after independence
KWEKWE – Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) president Nqobile Magwizi has praised Prophetic Healing and Deliverance (PHD) Ministries leader Prophet Walter Magaya for constructing the second stadium built in Zimbabwe after independence in 1980.
Magaya is spearheading the construction of Chahwanda Stadium (Heart Main Arena) in Kwekwe and the facility is set to be the home of ambitious side Hard Rock Football Club.
The Yadah FC president is working in collaboration with Kwekwe’s gold mogul Shepherd Chahwanda who owns Hard Rock FC.
It is Magaya’s role in developing football infrastructure that impressed Magwizi during his visit at the stadium on Wednesday.
“This is impressive. Remember, this is the second stadium built in Zimbabwe after independence,” Magwizi said.

Accompanied by the ZIFA board member in charge of project and infrastructure, Brighton Ushendibaba, Magwizi added:
“We have traveled to Spain and England, and this stadium will match the quality we have seen worldwide.
“The challenge is that as Zimbabweans, we often undermine each other’s work, but this is truly remarkable.”

Magwizi’s comments come as construction at Chahwanda Stadium progresses, with stands already installed, bucket seats in place while the pitch is now undergoing some final touches.
Additionally, the adjacent B-Arena is also under development.
Magaya revealed that additional facilities including shops, a small mall, ZIFA offices, basketball and tennis courts are being incorporated into the new facility.
