Yadah finally clear US$84k owed to Brazilian trio; pray for FIFA transfer ban relief

HARARE – Prophet Walter Magaya’s Yadah FC has cleared its US$84,000 debt owed to three Brazilian players, with the club set for a possible lifting of their FIFA transfer ban.

This happened after the club first deposited US$40,000 a few weeks ago.

Yadah was ordered by FIFA in July 2023 to pay three Brazilian players US$82,000 for breaching their contracts.

The club was given 45 days to clear the debt, but did not comply.

Following its failure to comply, Yadah was slapped with a transfer ban.

Due to interest, the money rose to US$84,000.

However, the Miracle Boys have cleared the debt, a major relief for the club which has struggled with a depleted squad since the start of the season.

One of the three Brazilian players’ father, confirmed to this reporter on Friday.

“Yadah has paid everything, clearing its debt,” said the parent adding that, “The money is already held by the office in Zimbabwe and will be transferred to Brazil to the athletes anytime soon.”

“I will share the proof of payment with you once the transfer has been done.”

In their match against Chicken Inn last week, the Miracle Boys had only one substitute available due to the FIFA ban.

Following the payment and once cleared with FIFA, Yadah is now set to conduct its transfer business as usual.

Already, the club has made big signings with the likes of Edmore Sibanda, King Nadolo, Godfrey Makaruse, Blessing Sarupinda, Talent Chawapiwa, Taimon Mvula and Innocent Mucheneka expected to turn out for the Harare based outfit.

The quartet of Nadolo, Makarause, Mvula and Mucheneka are Scottland players who have been loaned to Yadah due to the relationship between Magaya and Scott Sakupwanya, Scottland’s owner.
