SOUTH AFRICA – Rapper and entrepreneur Slikour (real name Siyabonga Metane) spent Sunday in hospital after he was the victim of a hit and run incident that took place while he was jogging.
The rapper and entrepreneur shared a video from his hospital bed on Instagram and detailed on his caption how he had been in a near death experience.
“While running today I got hit and run by a car. I’m ok, thank God but what traumatised me was when the nurse at the hospital told me how common hit-and-run patients get admitted in South Africa.”
“I know there’s a community of us doing our jogs and walks. I appeal to you to be vigilant. These perpetrators don’t care about you and your health goals or whatever gets you up.
“Also, I know if I was listening to Kendrick and not Drake on my pods this wouldn’t of happened.
“Seriously though, be safe out there, there are many families out there and I’m only posting this because I’m grateful my situation wasn’t worse and wouldn’t want anyone else experiencing it.”
In an interview with TshisaLIVE, Slikour said he only sustained swelling and a cut after being hit by a car.
“I was lucky nothing broke or my back or my legs weren’t hit.”
DJ Sbu meanwhile expressed his relief: “Thank God you’re safe bro. Strength. To more life.”
DJ Speedsta said: “Damn, sorry bro! This is why I fear running in the street with headphones on. Eish! Hope you’re okay bro!”
