HARARE – CAPS United president Farai Jere has set his sights on winning the 2025 Premier Soccer League (PSL) title, to end a nine year drought for the Green Machine.
The season is set to kick off in March.
Speaking to the club’s media team on Tuesday during a training session, Jere said the quality of players they have signed so far, reflects their ambition.
“If you look at the players we have brought in, our goal is clear—we want to win the league and cups,” Jere said.
“CAPS United is a big brand, and we have told our new signings that they must embrace that mindset. This season, we are going for trophies.”
The Green Machine has been active in the transfer market, securing high profile signings, including former Celtic midfielder Kundai Benyu, Tanaka ‘Kante’ Shandirwa and Nyasha Chintuli.
On Monday they also unveiled Brighton Manhire from FC Platinum and Congolese midfielder Love Raema Bissila Mabiala.
CAPS have also strengthened their squad with the arrivals of two goalkeepers Harmony Nare from ZPC Hwange and Ghananian Stephen Odai Kwaku.
Makepekepe who last won the league title in 2016, finished ninth in the 2024 PSL season.

Meanwhile, CAPS United legend Alois Bunjira has tipped his son, Junior Bunjira, for the 2025 Soccer Star of the Year award.
“JB07 will be the 2025 Zim PSL Soccer Star of the year. I prophesy,” Alois posted on Facebook.
Junior had a descent campaign in 2024 which was his debut season in the PSL, earning a national team call up following his impressive performances.
