UNITED KINGDOM – Zimbabwe Warriors vice captain Marshall Munetsi has expressed his delight after making his debut for Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday during an FA Cup tie against Blackburn Rovers.
Wolves defeated the Championship side 2-0 with Joao Gomes and Matheus Cunha finding the net in the first half.
Munetsi started on the bench but was introduced midway through the second-half, making his debut for Wolves.
He replaced Jean-Ricner Bellegarde who had started with Rodrigo Gomes in midfield and the Warriors star had a lively debut.
The 28-year found himself in the box a couple of times and could have scored on his debut had he got good contact with the ball with his head.
His header off a Gomes beautiful cross went wide.
The ex-Stade Reims star was impressed by his performance on his debut.
“Very happy with my debut for this great club Wolverhampton Wanderers. Thanks for all the support and we keep going,” he posted on his social media platforms.
Wolves coach Vitor Pereira praised the former Orlando Pirates midfielder after his first game in the club’s colours.
“He is a transition midfielder with the physicality to break and score then be defending, this is the player I appreciate. He is a midfielder that score goals, it is normal for him, he has a good record.”
