Magwizi committed to bringing WAFCON dream closer for the Mighty Warriors

HARARE – Newly elected Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) president Nqobile Magwizi, has expressed his commitment to helping the Mighty Warriors edge closer to their Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) dream.

The Mighty Warriors are gearing up for a crucial CAF WAFCON 2026 qualifier against Angola later this month in South Africa.

They kicked off their training camp on Sunday at the ZESA Training Centre in Harare as they prepare for the upcoming encounter, with Magwizi assuring the team of unwavering support from the new ZIFA leadership.

“We stand firmly behind our Mighty Warriors as they prepare for this vital encounter. Their dedication to representing Zimbabwe with honour is truly commendable.

“As an association, we are committed to providing all necessary support to ensure their success.

“Together, we believe we can achieve greatness and bring the AFCON dream closer to reality,” said Magwizi.

The team is under the guidance of former national team player Sithethelelwe ‘Kwinji 15’ Sibanda, who is currently working with a bloated 29-member squad.

The squad will be trimmed to 23 ahead of the decisive fixture.
