Prophet Magaya, Mliswa, Jere and Benjani disqualified from ZIFA polls

Prophet Walter Magaya, Temba Mliswa, Farai Jere and former Zimbabwe captain Benjani Mwaruwari have been disqualified from contesting for the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) presidency.

Those remaining in the presidential elections set for 25 January 2025 in Harare are Martin Kweza, Makwinji Soma-Phiri, Twine Phiri, Philemon Machana, Marshall Gore and Nqobile Magwizi.

The positions up for grabs include, a president, two vice presidents and six ordinary board members.

A statement from ZIFA said, “The ZIFA Normalisation Committee acting as the ZIFA Electoral Committee in accordance with Article 85(9) is pleased to announce the names of all the candidates who have met the eligibility criteria stipulated in the ZIFA Statutes, 2024.

“The list of successful candidates is as follows:

HARARE - It never rains but pours for Prophetic Healing and Deliverance (PHD) leader Prophet Walter Magaya, who, already facing multiple rape charges, has now been ordered by the High Court of Zimbabwe to repay US$3 million to an Israeli business partner, as the court rejected his defence that Zimbabwe’s exchange control laws invalidated the debt.

I won't be surprised that some of them candidates actually lives in UK and want to take jobs in Zimbabwe while living abroad like what Eric night and Ezra sibanda did that other year campaigning to be MPs in Zimbabwe while living in UK…pure greediness and disrespectful to people who lives in Zimbabwe
