The late Highlanders Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Sihlangu Dlodlo’s family has said it will patiently wait for the postmortem results before announcing to the public, any burial arrangements.
Dlodlo was found dead at his Nketa 9 home in Bulawayo on Monday with the cause of his death remaining unclear.
The Highlanders boss’s death came as a surprise to many considering he was last seen on Saturday looking well.
At the sametime, his Facebook post on 16 October that reads as a suicide note, has again left many asking questions over what could have led to his death.
Dlodlo’s close associates, the Bosso family and Zimbabwean football community remain curious to know the postmortem results for closure.
This has resulted in Dlodlo’s older brother Nkosana Griffiths telling the Chronicle newspaper postmortem reuslts will provide all the answers.
He also said they will not “do much in terms of preparing for Dlodlo’s burial without getting the results of the postmortem” first.
Additionally, he revealed that the results of the postmortem will be out today (Wednesday).
“We can’t do much in terms of preparing for his burial without first getting the results of the postmortem so for now there is nothing much that I can announce to the public. We ask the public to bear with us as we go through this difficult time,” said Nkosana.
“There isn’t much that the family has done in terms of preparations for the burial of my brother as his body was taken to the mortuary yesterday (Monday) and the postmortem will be done tomorrow (today).”
“He described his younger brother as a man who loved his family and was always ready to assist those in need of any form of help.”
Dlodlo was appointed Highlanders’ CEO in April 2024, replacing Ronald Moyo.
He is survived by his wife and three children who all stay in the UK.
