Former Zimbabwe national team forward Nyasha Mushekwi is set to return to the Chinese Super League after his club, Yunnan Yukun, clinched the League One championship.
Yukun secured the title with a game to spare, accumulating an impressive 66 points.
Mushekwi has been instrumental in his team’s success, currently leading the league’s scoring chart with 25 goals.
His latest goal came over the weekend against Dalian Zhixing.
The former CAPS United striker joined Yukun in March on a free transfer.
This was after leaving Zhejiang Greentown, where he became the club’s all time top scorer.
Mushekwi’s move to Yukun marked his third stint in the Chinese football, having previously played for Dalian from 2016 to 2019.
Yunnan Yukun founded in 2021, gained two successive promotions to go from the fourth-tier of Chinese football to the second between 2022 and 2023.
