Outspoken US based Zimbabwean motocross rider, Tanyaradzwa Muzinda (20), has voiced criticism at the international community for failing to address the struggles faced by Zimbabwean youths including allegations of corruption and human rights abuses.

In a passionate statement posted on X, Muzinda described Zimbabwe as being “under siege” due to dictatorship, corruption, and election manipulation.

Muzinda expressed frustration over the silence and inaction of global leaders, citing the compromised opposition and the regime’s control over the electoral process.

“Cry my beloved country, my motherland is under siege. Zimbabwe, the once vibrant bread basket of Africa now stands under the suffocating crocodile grip of a dictatorship, it is now in a free fall,” she stated.

“The young, old and women are trapped, voices silenced , opposition politicians all dead silenced by a back pocket bribe under the reign of a corrupt leader who stole the recent elections in broad daylight.

“Fear runs deep in every street corner ,the young and old people know for sure that their future is being robbed away , yet the world is watching and life goes on.

“We all hoped that the election was a beacon of hope , a chance for the elusive change .But in a shocking but expected twist , the Leader’s regime manipulated votes, twisted the narrative and “Tshabangued” and crushed the opposition.”

The motocross champion urged the international community to take action, questioning why democratic leaders have not intervened.

“SADC (Southern African Development Community) and international organizations sent out warnings and findings but the opposition was deeply compromised prompting its Charismatic leader to resign from the party he formed, and still the regime remains untouchable.”

She added: “The citizens who have been once hopeful now live in anxiety knowing fully that their freedom, their right to a fair voice has been robbed.

“Why does no one dare to ACT? Where are the captains of democracy when Zimbabwe needs them most .The Dictator not only controls the ballots but the very mind of my people casting a dark cloud over a nation that is being robbed in plain sight.”

Zimbabwe is facing a severe economic crisis which has been worsened by the El Nino induced drought. Allegations of corruption, economic mismanagement and maladministration are also contributing factors.

Over 100 political activists are currently being detained by the regime over what critics believe to be trumped up charges.
