Kenya national football team head coach, Engin Firat, has expressed concerns over the potential impact of Khama Billiat’s return to the Zimbabwe Warriors fold.
Billiat made a u-turn last week, coming out of retirement ahead of the upcoming AFCON qualifiers slated for 6 and 10 September in Uganda.
The 34-year-old midfielder took to his social media platforms to announce he had ended his retirement following his initial retirement in November 2021.
He was quickly drafted into the 23-man squad selected by new Warriors coach Michael Nees last week.

As a result, the Harambee Stars gaffer, Firat believes Billiat’s return is a huge boost and advantage for the Warriors.
Speaking to Kenyan media, Firat said: “You saw Zimbabwe has no squad problems, all players are fit, all of them are back. Not only this, even players who didn’t come before, they come back, like Khama Billiat, who is a very good player, someone who stopped from retirement, and also other players with a new coach,” he told journalists.
“He has the possibility to get them back, so they will come with a very strong squad, we know it. But we know this team also, so therefore it will be very tough, we will see.”
Zimbabwe and Kenya are set to clash on Friday at the Mandela National Stadium before playing Cameroon at the same venue four days after.
