Headlining acts include Kayflow, known for his hit songs portraying everyday life in urban centers, and Young Gemini, Zim Hip Hop’s Best Female Rapper of 2023.
The festival will also feature Voltz JT, author of a long list of hits and recipient of the Positive Social Award for his thought-provoking lyrics.
Other events alongside music include Shoko Comedy Night, Mashup Night, and the Peace in the Hood Concert. The Hub Unconference will precede the festival with talks and workshops on digital media, tech, and the creative economy.
Shoko Festival celebrates free expression, cutting-edge urban art, and alternative youth culture.
According to the organisers, this year’s theme, #BothSidesOfSamora, aims to bridge the gap between social classes historically divided by Samora Machel Avenue. The festival is a project of Magamba Network, a trailblazing creative and digital media organisation.
