Bosso beat DeMbare 2-0 to complete a double over their rivals in six years

Goals from McKinnon Mushore and Godfrey Makaruse were enough for Highlanders to beat Dynamos 2-0 at Rufaro Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The victory saw Bosso completing a double over their arch rivals DeMbare for the first time in six years.

In the reverse fixture played in March at Barbourfields Stadium, the Bulawayo giants were 2-1 victors.

Melikhaya Ncube and Archford Faira were the goal scorers while Alexander Mandinyenya scored the consolation goal for the visitors.

It is the double over old rivals DeMbare that excited the Bosso coach Kelvin Kaindu.

He told the media after the match: “I think there is nothing better in the league than for you to do a double against Dynamos,” Kaindu said.

Kaindu was also happy his team kept a clean sheet.

“We managed to score two goals and kept a clean sheet,” he added.

The Zambian expatriate also expressed his delight on his team’s overall performance.

“I think we played well and we could have come out with a bigger scoreline, especially looking at the number of scoring chances that we had.

“We knew Dynamos would come at us in the first 15 minutes and that’s what they did. But we had to maintain our composure and after that, we started playing our normal game.”

Things were not the same for Dynamos coach Genesis Mangombe.

The ex-Yadah coach was disappointed saying:”It’s so painful (to lose) and as a coach, you don’t want to lose six points to the same team in one season.

He added: “But it’s a game of football. At times we have these results (lose).”

Despite not openly pointing out to what could have caused his team’s dismal performance, Mangombe indirectly said:

“There are some things that are beyond my control. If you saw the intensity of the opponents, it means they were well-prepared for us.”

His remarks comes after the Dynamos players spent almost the whole of last week boycotting traing over unpaid dues in signing on fees and salaries.

“We failed to train and they capitalised on fast goal attacks. We tried to contain them but at the same time, we lost some energy in the process.

“Maybe it was because of the lack of training. Our fitness level today was not spot on.”

Highlanders are now fifth on the log table with 29 points.

They are five points adrift of Dynamos who are on placed sixth after 18 matches.
