HARARE – Zimbabwean comedienne Madam Boss will be mixing it up with the stars at this year’s BET awards, after she was announced as one of the guests at this year’s ceremony in Los Angeles.
The 2024 BET awards are set to take place on 30 June at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, California, United States of America.
BET Awards celebrate achievements mostly by people of colour in entertainment and honors music, sports, television, and cinema.
The award show represents a nod of approval for Madam Boss, recognising her noteworthy contributions to the local and world entertainment industry.
Canadian rapper Drake received the most nominations as he is nominated seven times, followed by Nicki Minaj with six nominations, J. Cole, Sexyy Red, SZA, Victoria Monét, and Beyoncé with five each, and 21 Savage, Doja Cat, Megan Thee Stallion, Tyla, and Usher all with four.
RnB godfather Usher will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award.
Artistes who will perform at the event include GloRilla, Latto, Mini Long Shaboozey, Victoria Monet, Lauryn Hill, and YG Marley. Ice Spice, Tanner Adell and South African Amapiano sensation Tyla.
In a social media post, Madam Boss expressed her gratitude at the fact that she would be representing the country at the award ceremony.
“Celebrate with me because I will be representing my mother land Zimbabwe at 2024 Edition of the BET Awards A man’s gift makes room for him, And brings him before great men. Proverbs 18 vs 16.
