HARARE – Self-styled prophet, Talent Madungwe, has reportedly finally settled his rental arrears with his landlord after it appeared as if he was in danger of being kicked out onto the streets.
Madungwe had fallen foul of his landlord, known only as Gogo Mangena, after he failed to pay his rentals for four months.
The Exiles Desire of Nations founder blamed his financial misfortunes on evil forces, who he claimed did not want him preaching the word of God.
In an interview Gogo Mangena confirmed that Madungwe had now made full payment and was thus in the clear.
Yes, he has paid the balance following the US$100 he first paid. All is well now,” she said.
Madungwe said the payment of his rentals was a cause for celebration, as it came on the eve of his birthday.
The controversial prophet, who has in the past claimed that he had dined with God in heaven, gave credit to United Kingdom-based entrepreneur and Pastor Chenai Marerwa, for giving him the money to clear his arrears.
“I want to thank Pastor Chenai of El Bethel Global Ministries for helping me to settle my rental arrears,” said Prophet Madungwe.
The help came at a time when I am to celebrate my birthday tomorrow (Tuesday). I will be turning 38. Ndakura,” he said.
