While he is still basking in the glory of his unanimous decision victory over Ramiz Brahimaj in the UFC’s octagon, Zimbabwean Mix Martial Arts (MMA) sensation Themba Gorimbo has ticked off yet another item on his bucket list, after he trained with South African actress Connie Ferguson recently.
Gorimbo has captured the imagination of the world in the past few months, as fans marvel at his unlikely journey from Zimbabwe’s diamond fields to the pinnacle of MMA.
While he has won adulation from the likes of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, in an Instagram post, Gorimbo said training with Ferguson allowed him to live out one of his childhood dreams.
“God’s plan. Hanging around the star @connie_ferguson before heading back to work. Maybe just maybe I can stare in one of her movies as a bouncer or something 😝.
Childhood dream and I will have one person very pissed off today 😂( my wife 😂 she wish to be the one taking the pic with the legendary actress),” he wrote.
In a short video clip, Gorimbo jokingly addressed his wife, telling her that Connie Ferguson was the reason he would be delaying his return from South Africa.
After losing his UFC debut in February, Gorimbo has managed to attain three consecutive wins, including his May victory over Brahimaj.
UFC is the largest MMA organisation in the world. The UFC showcases the best international fighters using a variety of martial arts styles and disciplines.
