The Premier Soccer League (PSL) in Zimbabwe on Tuesday announced that it will take a three week break from 1 to 21 June to “accommodate the upcoming FIFA World Cup Qualifiers (WCQ) and COFASA (senior) Men’s Competition” in South Africa.
The PSL issued a statement on Wednesday, indicating that “league matches will resume on Saturday 22 June 2024”.
“This serves to advise that the Premier Soccer League will be taking a break from 1 June 2024 to accommodate the upcoming FIFA World Cup Qualifiers and the COSAFA Men’s Competition.
“During this period, only one rescheduled match between Herentals College FC and Bikita Minerals FC will be played on Saturday 1 June 2024 at Rufaro Stadium at 1500 hours.
“The Castle Lager PSL matches will resume on Saturday 22 June 2024,” wrote PSL liaison officer Kudzai Bare.
During the international break, the Zimbabwe national team is scheduled to square off against Lesotho on 7 June and South Africa on 11 June for the WCQ.
The Warriors will then continue camp for the 2024 COSAFA Senior Men’s competition in Durban South Africa.
