COSAFA honour Chidzambwa and Tangawarima for services to football

The Council of Southern Africa Football Associations (COSAFA) has honoured Zimbabwean football legends Sunday Chidzambwa and Felix Tangawarima with Life time achievements for their contribution to the game in the region.

Chidzambwa, a record four-time COSAFA Cup winner, was honoured with the lifetime achievement in services to coaching while Tangawarima was given the lifetime achievement in services to refereeing.

The 2023 COSAFA awards ceremony was held at Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) took to its social media platforms to congratulate the two.

“Flying the flag with distinction! Congratulations to two legends of Zimbabwean football, Sunday “Mhofu” Chidzambwa and Felix Tangawarima – awarded the Lifetime Achievement in services to Coaching, and the Lifetime Achievement in services to Refereeing awards, respectively,” wrote ZIFA.

Meanwhile, South Africa dominated the awards, winning men’s coach and player of the year as well as women’s coach and goalkeeper of the year.
