Mutsvangwa’s son Neville arrested for illegally trading in foreign currency

HARARE – Three months after Christopher Mutsvangwa was sacked as War Veterans minister by President Emmerson Mnangagwa, his son Neville Mutsvangwa, has been arrested for illegally trading in foreign currency.

According to multiple reports, Neville, also the son of Women’s Affairs Minister Monica Mutsvangwa, is understood to have posted the black market ZiG exchange rate on his WhatsApp status on Monday.

Police officers from the Commercial Crimes Division made a dramatic raid at his Mt. Pleasant home on Wednesday afternoon before arresting him.

Never far from controversy, Neville has attracted the attention of the security services after being accused of “illegally dealing” in Elon Musk’s Starlink internet service.

One user on X (formerly Twitter), @DysonMurwira remarked: “Neville Mutsvangwa has lived a life of tremendous impunity for ages. The other time he was blatantly selling Starlink kits with his number splashed on the poster.

“In as much as this smells political, he shouldn’t be let off the hook. The net should go around after him.”
