Premier Soccer League (PSL) outfit Simba Bhora’s director and sponsor Brighton Panjap Ushendibaba surprised star midfielder Walter Musona with a Mercedes Benz C200.
The gesture is recognition of Musona’s outstanding performances this season, but particularly his contribution when they beat Dynamos 1-0 last Sunday.
Musona, who joined Simba from FC Platinum at the start of the season, was the hero in the crucial match against the Harare giants, scoring the only goal just before halftime.
The Zimbabwe Warriors forward was instrumental in handing the Tonderai Ndiraya coached side the maximum points against the PSL giants in front of their staunch faithfuls at their fortress Wadzanayi Stadium in Shamva.
Consequently, impressed by Musona’s consistent performances, Ushendibaba generously gave Musona the car as a way to appreciate his contribution.
A reliable source within the club confirmed to Nehanda Radio on Wednesday.
“It’s true, Panjap rewarded Walter for his top-notch performance against Dynamos with a Mercedes Benz C200.
“The arrangement is that Walter will trade in his old car for the Benz, and Panjap has also pledged to give Musona’s pre-owned car to another deserving player,” said the source.
Six games into the 2024 PSL campaign, Musona is in top form, leading by example as the club’s new captain.
Simba who assembled a formidable squad widely regarded as the strongest team in the PSL, are eyeing the championship title.
They will be hoping to continue with their winning ways as they face off tricky Bulawayo Chiefs, known as giant killers, on Saturday at Luveve Stadium.
