HARARE – Former Kaizer Chiefs star Khama Billiat is likely set for a quick return following an injury setback that saw him miss Yadah FC’s crucial 3-2 win over Telone at Bata Stadium in Gweru on Sunday.
Billiat was unavailable when Yadah FC finally picked its first win of the season against Telone due to a swollen calf.
He picked up the injury when they lost 2-1 to Simba Bhora at The Heart Stadium in the previous weekend.
The 33-year-old attacker was forced off in the 40th minute and was replaced by former Highlanders star King Nadolo.
Consequently, he did not train with the rest of the squad last week resulting in his availability in Gweru.
However, Yadah coach Thomas Ruzive provided positive news about the former Warriors winger’s early return.
Said Ruzive: “We are going to assess him (Khama) on Monday to see the progress he has made. He might be back this weekend if all goes well. We are very happy with the recovery.”
Billiat could be available in their second home match when they host new boys Chegutu Pirates on Saturday.
