Bulawayo giants Highlanders Football Club on Friday partnered with Better Brands Jewellery in an undisclosed deal.

The jewelry company is owned by gold dealer and Zanu PF Mabvuku Tafara legislator Pedzisai ‘Scott’ Sakupwanya.

The partnership was unveiled at Holiday Inn Hotel in Bulawayo.

Speaking during the event, Better Brands Managing Director Tonde Sakupwanya did not disclose details of the deal, including its length and financial value.

He said: It’s an honour to stand before you to announce the sponsorship of the biggest and one of the most successful clubs in the country which is Highlanders.

“As Better Brands Jewellery we are aware of the magnitude of the brand Highlanders in the Zimbabwean sporting industry and what the club means to the soccer loving fans in the country and those based in the diaspora.”

Tonde who remained tight lipped with the details of the deal, insisted their “main objective is to help Highlanders realise its potential”.

The deal is for Highlanders’ Academy, including all its junior teams together with the club’s Women’s side, Highlanders Royals.

Better Brands will be paying both junior teams and women’s team staff’s salaries.
