Zimbabwe Warriors forward Prince Dube has reportedly wrote to his Tanzanian club Azam FC requesting termination of his contract which runs until 2026.
Reasons behind Dube’s desire to leave Azam still remain unclear.
Reports emerging from Tanzania claim Azam have received a contract termination letter from the 26-year-old who has been a key player for the club.
“Azam confirms receiving a contract termination letter from Dube requesting that he wants to leave after joining the club in 2020,” revealed the Tanzanian Standard on Tuesday.
“He has submitted his letter to the management which has already responded…the contract he signed before the start of this season keeps him at the club until 2026.
“As such, until now, he has two and half years to parade at the club and the management has maintained that he can leave only if the terms of the contract are adhered to.”
Dube was not part of Azam’s squad that played Dodoma yesterday and Singida on Friday.
The former Zimbabwe U-23 national team captain joined Azam from Highlanders in 2020 on a two year deal.
He later extended his stay at the Dar es Salaam based side up to 2026.
