Veteran Zimbabwean forward Nyasha Mushekwi has found a new home in China after signing for League One side Yunnan Yukun on a free transfer.
The news was announced over the weekend by Chinese sports publication China Sports Vision 2050 on X.
“Yunnan Yukun, the Chinese League 1 newbie, announced the signing of Nyasha Mushekwi. After becoming legends in both Dalian and Zhejiang, the Zimbabwean striker joins his 3rd Chinese team,” wrote the publication.
The former CAPS United striker joins newly promoted Yunnan Yukun after leaving Zhejiang Greentown, where he became the club’s all time top scorer.
The 36-year-old’s contract with Greentown expired at the end of 2023.
Mushekwi’s move marks his third stint in Chinese football, having previously played for Dalian from 2016 to 2019.
Yunnan Yukun founded in 2021, gained two successive promotions to go from the fourth-tier of Chinese football to the second between 2022 and 2023.
