Former Zimbabwe Warriors attacking midfielder Khama Billiat has returned home after spending over a decade in the South African top flight league.
He signed for Prophet Walter Magaya’s Yadah FC as a free agent, putting pen to paper on a one year deal.
Billiat’s unveiling ceremony is set for this week, a source close to the developments told Nehanda Radio.
The former Mamelodi Sundowns star arrived in the country from South Africa on Tuesday evening.
Formerly with CAPS United, Billiat who had been heavily linked with Harare giants Dynamos, surprised everyone by signing for the Miracle Boys, ending speculation.
It was said that the 2016 Player of the Year in South Africa was going to be loaned to Dynamos, however, Yadah FC chairman Everson Chatambudza quashed the reports.
“We have no plans to loan him out; we actually believe that his experience will come in handy for Yadah. In fact, we would not be paying a record-breaking fee for him just to empower our rivals.
“For us, there are a lot of considerations that came into play in our decision to sign Khama.
“Billiat is a player with a big profile. This will help our commercial drive, through sale of replicas and brand visibility.
“Those that will be tracking Khama will also get a chance to see some of the talented players we have at Yadah.
“Undoubtedly, Khama still attracts interest on the international scene, including in South Africa,” he said.
Billiat has been unattached since June 2023 after parting ways with Kaizer Chiefs due to unclear circumstances.
His return to Zimbabwe has generated a lot of excitement among Premier Soccer League (PSL) lovers.
