Elsa Majimbo reveals that feud with Naomi Campbell led to alcoholism

Kenyan social media sensation Elsa Majimbo has revealed how a feud with supermodel Naomi Campbell, resulting from a disagreement over a documentary, led to bouts of depression and even alcoholism.

Elsa, who took social media by storm with her comedic skits, saw her star soar as her international fame spread during the Covid-19 induced lockdown.

In 2020, Elsa met up with Campbell, going on vacation with her at a time when everything seemed rosy between the pair.

It was during their holiday that Campbell suggested that they should make a documentary about life in Kenya.

Elsa claimed that after her documentary about her life, bullying, colourism, and falling in love with comedy debuted at the Tribeca Film Festival she received a phone call from Naomi in March 2020, with the supermodel threatening to sue her because she thought Elsa executed her documentary idea without her.

Since that phone call, Elsa said things had suddenly gone south in her career, leading her to turn to alcohol for comfort.

“I started drinking a lot because I wasn’t sure why things were going so wrong and I couldn’t put my finger on it,” she said.

Elsa admitted that things had been going well for her in Hollywood before their fallout.

“I’m not going to speak on that but I will say that Naomi did give me a lot of credibility, especially when I first came to Hollywood. She made me feel special; she did a lot of things for me,” Elsa said.

“Things started going very badly for me. I thought it was because of the situation [with Naomi], but I wanted to be sure,” she said.

Elsa, who has since deleted some of the tweets shedding light on the saga, said she did not want anything to do with the top model anymore.

“I stand by my words. Content in my decision. The tweets are deleted due to seeking peace, not fear. Y’all need to understand this is something that has happened since I was 19. My goal now is happiness,” Elsa wrote on her X media.

“Naomi never force-fed me alcohol. The situation led to the action. My action. As I said, my part was played, and responsibility is mine.” Daily Mast
