Popular Zimbabwean Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) star Themba Gorimbo and the Sports and Recreation Commission (SRC) have resolved their differences regarding the use of the Zimbabwean flag on Gorimbo’s fighting gear.
This comes after Gorimbo publicly criticized the SRC earlier this week, alleging they were denying him permission to display the flag.
However, in a positive turn of events, Gorimbo met the SRC Director General Eltah Nengomasha on Friday to address the issue.
The 32-year-old wrote on X: “Met with SRC director general Eltah Nengomasha this aim to fix the flag on my kit issue and also work on building mixed martial arts sport in Zimbabwe. The meeting was good and needed.”

Gorimbo also took to X to criticise Sports Minister Kirsty Coventry, calling her “the worst Sports Minister ever”.
He alleged that sports in the country is “dying because of (Coventry) who let her family run the department and her meetings are run by her husband”.
The 32-year-old welterweight fighter recently made headlines after knocking out his Mexican opponent Pete Rodriguez in 32 seconds.
The Masvingo born MMA star gained popularity in 2023 when Hollywood star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson bought him a luxurious house in Miami.
This was after seeing footage of the Zimbabwean star discussing his financial struggles prior to his first win.
