Belgian top flight side KV Mechelen’s Zimbabwean winger Bill Antonio was forced off the field on Sunday after sustaining an injury when they drew 1-1 with Genk.
The speedy winger, who started the match, was replaced by Bafdili in the 84th minute due to an undisclosed injury.
Mechelen are yet to release any official information on the extent of the injury.
They will be hoping it’s not a serious injury for Antonio who has been a vital cog in their team of late, scoring crucial goals for the Yellow Red.
Antonio scored the winner in their 2-1 victory over Gent three weeks ago.
The goal was his first for the senior team following his graduation from Mechelen’s U-21s.
He went on to find the net again when Mechelen drew 2-2 with Anderlecht a fortnight ago.
The injury setback comes at a crucial moment for Antonio who has been enjoying his form with the first team.
He has consistently displayed his pace and talent, earning himself a place in the starting line up for the Besnik Hasi coached side.
