HARARE – The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has said it is on the hunt for five women who were captured on video assaulting a woman in Hatcliffe, claiming that she had been in cheating with a man who was husband to one of them.
In the video making rounds on social media, the five are seen viciously attacking the woman with claps, kicks and fists as she rolls haplessly on the ground.
Other women from the suburb are seen trying to join in from stopping the women from continuing with their assault. The social media rumour mill suggested that the woman had passed away after the assault.
However, in a statement, the ZRP rubbished those claims, disclosing that she had only sustained injuries and was at Parirenyatwa Hospital where she was recovering.
“The ZRP has taken note of a video circulating on social media involving a female victim who was being assaulted by five female suspects after being accused of having an affair with a married man in Hatcliffe Extension, Harare.
“The case is now under investigations and the police have since arrested Mitchel Kariwo (18) in connection with this case.”
“Meanwhile, ZRP is appealing for information which may lead to the arrest of Zeripah Kanduza, Natasha Kanduza, Fortunate Tembo and another suspect only identified as Olleen who are being sought in connection with this case.
“Anyone with information to report at any nearest Police Station.”
