The Dangamvura born Kasuza who has been in the national team since January 2020 is set to appear before a disciplinary hearing.

A ZC letter seen by Chipinge Times and signed by ZC Media and Communications Officer Darlington Majonga said the ban is with immediate effect.

It also states that Kasuza tested positive for the drug during an in-house doping test last week.

“Zimbabwe Cricket has with immediate effect suspended another team player Kevin Kasuza, from all cricket activities pending a hearing, after he tested positive for a banned recreational drug during an in-house doping test last week.

“He is due to appear before a disciplinary hearing soon. Kasuza is being charged under the ZC Employment Code of Conduct,” read the letter.

Efforts to get a comment from Kasuza were futile.

Only last month Zimbabwean cricketers Wessly Madhevere and Brandon Mavuta were also suspended “with immediate effect” from all cricket activities, pending a hearing, for allegedly breaching anti-doping rules.

According to ZC “the concerned players… both tested positive for a banned recreational drug in an out-of-competition case recorded during a recent in-house doping test.”
