PSL release 2023 season fixtures; Bosso, DeMbare set for match day 5

The Premier Soccer League [PSL] has released the fixtures for the upcoming 2023 campaign which is scheduled to kick start on Saturday 18 March.

PSL took to their official Facebook page to announce release of the fixtures.

“The 2023 Castle Lager PSL season kicks off on Saturday 18 March 2023. Are you ready for the action?,” Posted the local football governing body on Tuesday.

On match day one, new comers Simba Bhora play host to reigning champions FC Platinum while the premier league returnees Hwange FC entertain giants Dynamos.

Struggling Bulawayo Chiefs who are the 2022 Chibuku Super Cup winners host Ngezi Platinum Stars.

League giants Highlanders FC play ZPC Kariba, CAPS United’s season opener will be against Manica Diamonds and Gweru based side Sheasham who secured PSL promotion will welcome Chicken Inn.

Other match day one fixtures will see the Sugar Sugar boys Triangle United play Chibuku Cup finalists Herentals FC then two army sides Cranbourne Bullets and Black Rhinos will also square off.

Prophet Walter Magaya’s owned side Yadah FC will tussle against premier league debutants GreenFuel FC.

The country’s biggest fixture deemed as the ‘Battle of Zimbabwe’ pitting Dynamos and Highlanders will take place in Week 5.

Bosso will host DeMbare at their fortress Barbourfields Stadium, hoping to extend their unbeaten run against their rivals which has spanned close to a decade.

Another big fixture, the Harare derby involving two city rivals CAPS United and Dynamos has been lined up for Week 7.

Meanwhile, the PSL went on to announce that “Ascot Stadium and Vengere Stadium will not host PSL matches as the stadia failed to meet the minimum requirements set by the ZIFA Club Licensing First Instance Body.”
