Former Warriors captain Danny ‘Deco’ Phiri signs for Bulawayo Chiefs

Former Zimbabwe Warriors skipper Danny ‘Deco’ Phiri has joined ambitious Premier Soccer League (PSL) side Bulawayo Chiefs.

On Wednesday Chiefs unveiled Phiri who was unattached and has been trying his luck at the club.

“Welcome to the club Danny ‘Deco’ Phiri. Deco is now a NINJA,” wrote the 2022 Chibuku Cup winners.

The 33-year-old former Chicken Inn midfielder and captain has been clubless since March 2022 after leaving Tanzanian lower league side Diamond Trust Bank.

This was a year after his release by DStv Preimiership outfit Golden Arrows in 2021.

Last year, Deco was strongly linked with a move to Mhondoro based side Ngezi Platinum Stars although the deal failed to materialise.

Meanwhile, Chiefs who lost several players to other premier league clubs due to a financial dispute also unveiled defender William Stima.

Stima was with reigning champions FC Platinum who released him last month.

The former Tsholotsho FC versatile player also joined as a free agent.
