Warriors winger Wadi’s solitary strike inspires JDR Stars to victory

Zimbabwean international forward Ishmael Wadi’s first half solitary strike over the weekend was the difference when JDR Stars beat visitors Pretoria Callies 1-0 at the Giant Stadium.

Wadi broke the deadlock at the stroke of half time (44th minute) to help the Hammer Boys collect maximum points at home during a Motsepe Foundation Championship match played on Friday.

The goal took his season’s tally to five goals out of thirteen matches that have been played in the league so far.

With five goals, he is two goals behind the league’s leading top scorer Ashley Cupido who has netted seven times.

Wadi’s JDR Stars are seated fifth on the log standings with 21 points, six adrift log leaders Polokwane City.
