Former Warriors star Khama Billiat faces uncertain future at Kaizer Chiefs

Former Zimbabwe Warriors talisman Khama Billiat’s future at Kaizer Chiefs is hanging by a thread, it has emerged.

The Soweto giants are still yet to negotiate another deal to tie down the forward whose contract with the club expires in June.

Billiat is in the last six months of his contract with Chiefs but the club has so far shown a reluctance to negotiate a new deal with the 32-year-old forward.

According to KickOff magazine, Billiat and his teammate, veteran defender Eric Matoho “look unlikely to remain at Naturena in June”.

The publication also reported that the future of the club’s longest serving player Itumeleng Khune is also in limbo.

His contract with the Soweto giants is also reportedly coming to an end in June.

“Both Khune and Billiat’s current contracts with the club (Chiefs) are set to expire in June 2023 with both players free to sign pre-contract agreement elsewhere,” KickOff wrote.
