United States based Professor Kenneth Mufuka has been appointed as the Patron of Hatfield Elite Academy, an institution set up “to raise super kids both academically and character wise.”
In an interview with Nehanda Radio, Professor Mufuka said that the academy will guide students through Cambridge Overseas Examinations as well as Zimbabwe Schools Examinations (ZIMSEC).
Mufuka said that the Academy had added new resources so that students can be picked up by a school bus from Harare’s Central Business District.
“With our international connections, we can almost guarantee your child a college place in Zimbabwe or in the United States. Of course as far as I am concerned the friendliest place for a Zimbabwean student to be is at Lander University, in South Carolina., USA.”
Mufuka said over 100 Zimbabweans have already graduated from there.
Driven by head teacher Daniel Senzere and board chairperson Thomas Chidavaenzi, Hatfield Elite Academy came about after an old colonial homestead at 54 Glamis St in Hatfield was converted into a state-of-the-art school. Since then the school has not looked back.
