All is set for mbira princess Hope Masike’s ‘Dreams of Dande Live Concert’ slated for Old Mutual Theatre on Thursday.
The 29-year-old said the concert was named after her sixth track on her album, which she is due to release.
“Dreams of Dande is the title of the sixth track on the album I am releasing this year; the music is a rendition of the nyunga nyunga Dande.
“In the song, I am asking God to look after me and all that is mine as I pursue my dreams,” said Masike.
“This concert is one of my celebrations with my fans after the realisation of one of my dreams for 2019,” she added.
The songstress said she was very grateful for the support she gets and she also said she was ready to drop her third album.
“I feel appreciated both outside and here at home and I am very excited to announce the release of my third album this year.
“The release date shall be announced at this weeks ‘Dreams of Dande’ concert,” she said.
Masike said her year has been a bit busy for her preparing her album but, shows have been going on.
“My year has been quite busy I have been much focused on finalizing the album and all business decisions related to it.
“I have also been continuing with local gigs and a few outside the country the most recent local one would be the just ended Harvest Festival that was fun and exciting to have a new festival in Harare.
“Outside Zimbabwe I last performed with Mahube at Cape Town Jazz Festival, I will be performing again at Mahube at Bushfire Festival this Africa Day,” said Masike.
The female musician who has been silent for a while said she was polishing up her upcoming album so that it reaches the world market.
“I have been focusing on finishing my next product and making sure the correct business structures are set for the product and I am excited to finally present this album to the world,” she said. H Metro
