I’m walking away, Babes Wodumo declares

The Wololo hitmaker says she is walking away from the abuse before she gets killed.

Bongekile “Babes Wodumo” Simelane opened up for the first time following a video showing her boyfriend Mampintsha allegedly assaulting her in the early hours of Monday.

Commenting on the incident, she posted a picture of herself with her late friend Karabo Mokoena, who was killed by her boyfriend Sandile Mantsoe and captioned it:

“In 2017 I lost a friend because of abuse, I could have been next.”

Mantsoe was in 2018 found guilty of murdering Mokoena after he stabbed her and tried to cover up the murder by burning her body.

He argued that the victim had cut herself and had been depressed after allegedly being raped by the friend of a former lover.

He also argued that he had been the victim of abuse at Mokoena’s hands.

Now Babes Wodumo says she could have been the next victim if she had not called for help.

Interestingly, like in Mokoena’s case, Mampintsha has also turned the tables and is claiming to be a victim citing that Babes was abusing him.

“In 2017, I lost a friend because of abuse, I could have been next. I’m walking away. I could have been next! This could have been you, your sister, your daughter, your niece. We are not victims but survivors,” Babes said. – Citizen
